3 Events in Central Florida you won’t want to miss this September

Posted by Tim Weisheyer on Sep 2, 2014 8:35:00 PM

Yes, you read that right...it's September! And although it might not really feel like it here in Florida, the calendar tells us we are heading into fall. With that (besides the cooler weather we are all crossing our fingers for) comes a never ending list of events in Central Florida, making the months ahead a fun time for all, especially those who love getting outside and enjoying the fall-like weather that we’ll eventually start to experience. We’ve got a rundown of some of our favorite annual events to add to your calendar this month.

The 5th Annual Orlando Fall Home & Garden Show

This weekend, September 5th-7th at the Orange County Convention Center, you can take all your home & garden to-do’s and put them into action as you walk through aisle after aisle of inspiring home and landscape displays. Area vendors (including local experts and beyond showcasing the latest in products and services for everything from builders, contractors, materials, decks, pools, spas, entertainment systems, storage, plants, landscape displays/materials, kitchenware, and much more) will be set up with free samples, giveaways and demonstrations. At the show you can also visit the Kids’ Zone, Live Birds of Prey & Pet Zone, and various seminars. For every first time homebuyer (and any homeowner) this is something you should experience at least once. We are betting you’ll leave with a new appreciation for homeownership and a new home to-do list that might very well stretch a mile long!

Central Florida real estate market update - July 2014 [Infographic]

Posted by Tim Weisheyer on Aug 25, 2014 8:30:00 PM

The Central Florida real estate market continues to show that right now is an opportune time for Buyers and Sellers. If you've been thinking about selling your home in Central Florida but can't quite seem to bite the bullet, this is the proof. Or if you are on the other end of the real estate perspective and have been thinking about buying a first home in Central Florida (or wanting to move up from your starter home) these numbers tell you that right now is the time to do just that.

Like usual, the summer months picked up steam and have generated more sales. This increased activity has continued to have a positive impact on the average days on market, particulary in Osceola and Seminole counties. Overall, the average days on market is trending downward, which is good for Sellers. Median home prices continue to trend upward and the sold price to list price ratios are up (always good when you are the Seller!).

The amount of active listings is growing, giving any Buyer a bigger inventory to choose from when trying to find the perfect home. We hope our monthly market updates (including our June 2014 market update) help with your real estate needs when it comes to buying or selling your next home in Central Florida.

Central Florida Neighborhood Feature: Lake Nona

Posted by Tim Weisheyer on Aug 11, 2014 7:46:56 AM

This month we’re going to venture just outside of Osceola County to talk about one of the most up and coming areas in Central Florida—Lake Nona. Lake Nona is quickly evolving into one of the best Central Florida neighborhoods to call home and is located within the city limits of Orlando, just southeast of the Orlando International Airport.

With the new Medical City calling Lake Nona home, there has been an influx of families and professionals moving into this area. What was once miles and miles of uninhabited land has now been replaced with newly constructed neighborhoods, golf communities, shopping centers, schools and more.
