Why might you want to call Winter Park home? Maybe because...

It's home to the well known Winter Park Farmers’ Market.

Every Saturday from 7 p.m. to 1 p.m. you can visit the old restored train depot that hosts the produce and plant market. Besides being able to purchase your weekly produce from the local vendors (of local products) you can find booth after booth of baked goods, handmade goods, fresh flowers and more. This weekly event is pet, kid and family friendly making it fun for all ages.

It has the new Winter Park SunRail Station.

New to the area, the SunRail station is within walking distance of the city’s new Winter Park Welcome Station, Park Avenue, Rollins College and more. People from the surrounding area can ride it into the quaint city of Winter Park, while residents of the city can ride it out into the Orlando area and beyond. Living an urban lifestyle is made possible with this commuter locomotive.

You can visit the historic Rollins College

Founded in 1885, it was the first recognized college in Florida. Styled after the liberal arts education found in the New England area, Rollins is a four-year, coeducational college located along Lake Virginia in Central Florida with a beautiful campus highlighting Winter Park’s natural beauty and Orlando’s vibrant downtown. They consider theirs a campus like no other and we agree.

Or shop the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival.

Named America’s Best Art Fair in 2013, this event takes place at the end of March each year and is one of the nation’s oldest and largest juried outdoor art festivals. More than 350,000 visitors enjoy the show with just over 1,000 artists from around the world attending the event. The first show was held on Park Avenue in 1960 and has spanned out across the streets of Winter Park over the years.

And of course, partake in the Park Avenue shops and restaurants.

Their tagline, “Shop. Dine. Experience.” pretty much sums it up. Park Avenue is home to over 40 award-winning restaurants and cafes and over 100 shops, boutiques and specialty stores making it easy to spend your money (and have a great time) when in the area. The Morse Museum and Cornell Museum provide education in art and history when you are looking for something a little more deep on Park Avenue.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, Winter Park is a charming community that offers more than just charm when it comes to the amenities available within city limits.
