Staying busy in Central Florida is easy. There is always somewhere to go or something to see. We thought you might be interested in checking out these three events that you may have overlooked when filling out your calendar for the month.
- 133rd Silver Spurs Rodeo. The largest sanctioned rodeo east of the Mississippi is taking place June 6th-7th at the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee. You can catch bull riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding and barrel racing in the indoor arena while being entertained by the ever popular rodeo clowns. Admission is $15 for adults and kids 10 and under free. They are also offering a free popcorn and small drink to any students who bring their end of the year report card reflecting at least two "A's" or "O's".
- Pink Day at Bok Tower Gardens. The second annual event celebrates breast cancer survivors and raises money for breast cancer research. The event lasts from 9 a.m. to noon on June 14th and offers a pink plant sale along with guest vendors representing some of women’s favorite interests such as jewelers, massage therapists, healthy living tips and more. General admission is $12 for adults and $3 for kids ages 5-12. A percentage of the admission and event proceeds will go to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
- 24th Annual Harvest Festival. Taking place June 20th-22nd at the Lakeridge Winery amid live music and over 80 local artists and crafters. Join in the tradition stomping of the grapes, all ages welcome to participate making this event family friendly, too. Lakeridge wine, beer, soft drinks and a variety of food is available for purchase, along with complimentary Winery tours and tasting. Who wouldn't want to enjoy a weekend at the winery?!
