As we've said before, at Dream Builders Realty, we know the importance of taking an active role in the community we serve. One way we do this is through the support of local education. Our series on school features shows exactly what this area has to offer when it comes to education.

We are sharing the options out there when it comes to programs offered, and special features of the various local schools, to help you in your search for a new home.

We've highlighted a variety of elementary, middle and high schools in Osceola County, along with some multi-level schools, charter schools and magnet schools, too. The school we're featuring this month? Poinciana High School, home of the Eagles!

Let's start with the school's mission statement:

"Poinciana High School will serve every student with excellence as the standard. It will serve every student in an environment of college and career readiness by delivering a rigorous curriculum and promoting a culture of no excuses."

As far as bragging rights are concerned, Poinciana
students are encouraged to become college and career ready from the start. The school hosts an annual school-wide college week, and college fair, both of which require establishing partnerships with colleges and other post-secondary institutions. Various colleges are invited to campus to provide admissions information. The College and Career Specialist has also created a partnership with the Celebration Foundation to provide free campus field trips to TECO and Valencia College.

Poinciana High School is home to one of the only WeatherSTEM weather stations in Central Florida. The system provides real-time weather data to the students, school, and community.

Beyond this, students have many choices when it comes to programs offered at the high school. Some of them include:

  • AVID
  • Career Pathways
  • Drivers Education
  • Fine Arts
  • NJROTC
